Rampton '77 Committee

Welcome to Rampton!

Welcome to the village of Rampton – we hope that you will be very happy here. Rampton is a small village of around 400 residents situated about 6 miles north of Cambridge and is considered a Fen Edge village.  This welcome information has been gathered together by the Rampton '77 Committee. The ‘77 Committee was formed to arrange village celebrations for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and has continued to arrange events every year to promote social cohesion and community involvement in our small village.  Funds raised are used to support village projects and other local good causes as required.

As part of the community spirit we would like to welcome you to the village and hope you find the information below useful. We are all volunteers and do our utmost to keep it up to date so please do let us know if something has changed!

·      Rampton CarCare is a Community Transport facility which provides a highly valued and essential service to those who would otherwise be unable to get to medical and social appointments and to keep in touch with relatives and friends.
The scheme is run by an organised pool of volunteer drivers, with a volunteer coordinator.  Volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide lifts to people to get to their appointments.  A nominal fee of 30 pence per mile is charged to the user, with a minimum charge of £3.  Transport to Addenbrookes is a set return fee of £9.  For 2026 and 2027 these fees are covered by the '77 Committee so there is no charge for users.  To make use of this service, please call, WhatsApp or text Linda Cawley on 07864 793091.  Alternatively, you can email [email protected]. Further information on our CarCare page
If you would consider being a volunteer driver, please contact Linda - there is no minimum time commitment required, you are free to say yes or no to any requests that are put on the driver WhatsApp group.
